About Us

The Ardsley Community Nursery School has been serving families from the local area for 65 years with a fun-loving environment run by caring staff and a strong enrichment program consisting of music, dance and movement, nature and Spanish. We are a NYS certified nursery school from 9 AM until 11:45 AM, and offer afternoon sessions until 2 PM. Early drop off is available for working parents. Programs are offered from ages 2 through 5 years old. A 2 week pre-camp program runs in June, and a 6 week summer camp program runs from the end of June through the first week in August.

Children learn through carefully planned play experiences that include songs; arts and crafts; language, phonemic awareness and literacy; science and exploration; computers; multicultural humanities; and independence and social skills. The school curriculum centers around integrated activities based on weekly themes that reflect the interest of our students, such as Dinosaurs, Outer Space, The Wild West, Circus, Animals, the Ocean, and Farms. Fun days include our Halloween and Spring carnivals, Valentine's Day brunch for parents, Thanksgiving feast and Holiday puppet show. We also have the ability to include children with special needs.

The school has a beautiful, shady playground with sandboxes, swings, climbing equipment, playhouses and mobile toys. Field trips are taken to the nearby police and fire stations, the library and the Greenburgh Nature Center. Children experience science and nature daily through taking care of plants and classroom pets, and hatching butterflies and chicks every Spring. Our goal is for every child to feel good about themselves, make friends and love school.
